28 Mar Introducing Our Newest Showroom Display – Contemporary
Contemporary style has become increasingly popular in the home, especially within the current boom of new construction and renovation in and around Denver. The gained storage space that a frameless cabinet construction provides, coupled with sleek elements typically found in European-inspired design, gives contemporary kitchens or baths a streamlined look. The visual sparseness of the design is important, but so is the utilization of space.
Recently, two of our BKC designers took on the creative challenge of designing a new kitchen cabinet showroom display that would allow our clients to see the virtually unlimited options of contemporary style as offered by Crystal Cabinet Works. The prominent finish in this new display features the UV Lacquered SOHO door style that is manufactured in Italy before being sent to Crystal’s factory in Minnesota for quality assurance.
To keep the design simple and clean-lined, our designers opted to eliminate hardware on the back wall. To achieve this, the flush inset oven tower has an automatic servo-drive tip-up door, the drawers have “J” channels, and the wall cabinets feature fold-up doors. Automatic sensors within some of the cabinets turn on interior lights each time the doors are opened. This lighting can also be found inside the full-height doors of the 96″ tall pantry, which features a beautiful walnut interior.
A trio of floating wall cabinets with back painted glass breaks up the design while maintaining the same sleek look as the rest of the display. The island features a contrasting color in the same SOHO door style with plenty of storage inside and an automatic servo-drive to control the trash pull-out.
For consistency, the island cabinets have extended doors which go all the way to the floor, eliminating the need for toe kick and keeping in line with the streamlined look. A custom-made wood bar top with a waterfall edge sits on the Dekton ® counter, adding another layer of visual interest which does not detract from the straight lines.
