E. Dorado Place Kitchen Remodel

Designing this kitchen to match the client’s style was a pleasure. By bringing in lighter-toned cabinets and accessories and rearranging the layout, the once dark and dated room has been transformed into a bright, welcoming space.

One of the biggest challenges to the new design was to open the kitchen to the family room and turn the fridge to allow for a larger island with a waterfall-edge countertop. The original layout blocked off the entrance to the family room and created an awkward countertop that was never used. A beautiful custom cabinet with glass fronts and side ties both the family room and kitchen together. For additional cohesiveness, we chose cherry stained wood for the interior of the cabinet, which ties in the railing, flooring, and interior doors throughout the house. This same cherry stained wood interior was added into the butler’s pantry to bridge the dining room and kitchen together.

The client desired a kitchen with beautiful subtle details that would lend a custom element to the space. One way we accomplished this was by adding furniture toe valances with a profiled edge throughout, then pulling them forward to allow this elegant detail to show.
