The homeowner of this expressive kitchen is a food blogger and cookbook author. Her kitchen is featured on her YouTube channel and will possibly appear in her upcoming books. Therefore, it was important to create a space that was fun and inviting, yet also functional. The dishes the client creates are centered around authentic Mexican cuisine. She desired a space that would reflect this style and be the perfect backdrop to her cooking demonstrations. To accomplish this, we incorporated multiple styles and colors into the design, including a beautiful custom turquoise paint that adds a festive pop of color to the layout. Perhaps the biggest challenge to the design was working within the limits of available space. Since the client is a chef, she desired large, professional-style appliances and a lot of internal cabinet accessories for storing her cooking wares. Additionally, she longed for a buffet/serving space for entertaining, as well as a large furniture piece to display the various items she has collected along her travels.
