Greenwood Village

Greenwood Village, also known as the Village, is a city south of Denver in the county of Arapahoe. According to the 2020 U.S. Census Bureau, Greenwood Village has a population of 15,761 and the median household income in $129,035. The Village has a number of preserved rural areas and historical events that take place throughout the year.

Greenwood Village was once a rural community but now with the development that has taken place, this is a city is a good mix of residential and urban areas along with a number of nationally recognized business parks. With the success of the business parks there is a daytime population of over 45,000 people that inhabit the city.

Designing this kitchen to match the client’s style was a pleasure. By bringing in lighter-toned cabinets and accessories and rearranging the layout, the once dark and dated room has been transformed into a bright, welcoming space. One of the biggest challenges to the new design was to open the kitchen to the family room and turn the fridge to allow for a larger island with a waterfall-edge countertop. The original layout blocked off the entrance to the family room and created an awkward countertop that was never used. A beautiful custom cabinet with glass fronts and side ties both the family room and kitchen together. For additional cohesiveness, we chose cherry stained wood for the interior of the cabinet, which ties in the railing, flooring, and interior doors throughout the house. This same cherry stained wood interior was added into the butler’s pantry to bridge the dining room and kitchen together.

The client desired a kitchen with beautiful subtle details that would lend a custom element to the space. One way we accomplished this was by adding furniture toe valances with a profiled edge throughout, then pulling them forward to allow this elegant detail to show.
